
Catching Up with Gators Alumnae in the Sports World

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – There are half a dozen lawyers who are letterwinners of the University of Florida women's basketball program and later we'll focus on them and other Gators who have enjoyed tremendous success since their days wearing the Orange & Blue.
Today, with the college sports season well underway and the countdown to the 2015-16 season under 49 days away, here's an update on some of our alumnae who are enjoying a profession in the sports world and we are so proud of them!
Jaterra Bonds (2010-14)
She spent her first post-college basketball season playing professionally in Austria with the Flying Foxes SVS Post, Bonds is preparing to return overseas to continue her dream as a pro baller.
Amanda Butler (1990-94)
The first alumna in program history named head coach of an NCAA Division I program, Butler enters her ninth season as head coach of the Florida Gators!
Sha Brooks (2006-09)
Playing professional basketball since graduating, Brooks is entering the season playing in Ruse, Bulgaria, with Dunav8806 Ruse.
Kerry Cremeans (1990-94)
A teammate of Amanda Butler, Cremeans has been coaching upon graduation, winning a national championship at Purdue and even returning to the UF sideline as an assistant coach. She enters her fourth season as head coach at the University of Denver.
Dalila Eshe (2002-06)
Playing professional basketball for eight seasons, Eshe then joined the coaching ranks where she enters her second year as an assistant coach at East Carolina University.
Marshae Dotson (2005-09)
A professional basketball player since graduating from UF, Dotson just signed to play with Basket Esch in Luxembourg after playing in Switzerland the previous two years.
Jennifer George (2009-13)
A professional hoops player since graduating, George returns to the court and is playing Puerto Rico again this season with Team Morovis.
Aneika Henry (2007-09)
A professional basketball player since graduating from UF, Henry recently wrapped up her fourth season playing for the WNBA's Atlanta Dream and is playing in Mersin, Turkey.
Misty (Knight) Brown (1997-01)
Brown enters the season as the Assistant Athletics Director for Development at Georgia State University, where she joined the staff in 2011.
Ndidi Madu (2008-12)
A professional basketball player since graduating from UF, Nadu played in Spain last year and is playing with her Nigerian National Team, which is trying to earn a spot at the 2016 Olympic Games.
Brandi McCain (1998-02)
After playing in the WNBA and professionally in Israel, McCain was inducted into Silsbee High School's Athletic Wall of Honor in September of 2015 and soon enters her first year as a graduate assistant at the University of Colorado – which hosts a tournament November 27-28 that features the Gators participating.
DeLisha Milton-Jones (1993-97)
On August 28, 2015, Milton-Jones became the WNBA's all-time leader for career games played (497), as she just wrapped up her 16th WNBA season as a member of the Atlanta Dream.
Merlakia Jones (1991-95)
After a long professional hoops career, Jones – still UF's all-time leading scorer - turned her knowledge to the coaching side of the game and returned to her alma mater Carter (Alabama) High School, where she coaches the boys team.
Erica Lang-Montgomery (1988-92)
A coaching veteran who has been an assistant coach at Division I programs from Purdue to Florida State and from Southern California and Wichita State to North Texas, Lang-Montgomery enters her seventh year as Head Coach at Flagler College.
Murriel Page (1994-98)
A 12-year professional basketball player after graduating from UF, Page enters her sixth year as an assistant coach at the University of Florida.
Trish (Patterson) Perez (2001-03)
Since 2014, Trish has been the Hoopology 5on5 Director for Girls Basketball is Sierra Vista, Arizona, where she teaches young girls the fundamentals of the game.
Bridget Pettis (1991-93)
A professional basketball player since her college days that included a six-year WNBA career, Pettis wrapped up the 2015 WNBA season as an assistant coach with the Tulsa Shock.
Danielle Santos (2002-06)
Coaching since graduating from UF, Santos enters her second year as an assistant coach at Florida State University, which plays the Gators on November 16 in Gainesville. Danielle also got married over the summer – congrats!
Roonie Scovel (1980-84)
The Hall of Fame Coach who has been nationally recognized for her coaching accomplishments, Scovel returns to guide Gulf Coast State College for an 18th season!
Steffi Sorensen (2008-10)
After a brief professional hoops career, Sorensen found her current calling behind the microphone and you can see her on the sidelines for ESPN, FOX, the SEC Network and several other major networks working college football and basketball games!
Dana (Smith) DesJarlais (1994-98)
After assuming a basketball coaching career upon graduation, Dana returns this season with the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars as the Assistant to the General Manager and Administrator of Football Operations.
Chanda Stebbins (1993-97)
The two-sport Gator who also spent time on the volleyball court, Stebbins enters her 14th season as the Head Coach at Santa Fe College in Gainesville.
Azania Stewart (2008-12)
A 2012 Basketball Olympian for her native Great Britain, Stewart enters the season playing professionally in Logroeno, Spain with Campus Promete.
Andrea Vilaro Aragones (2011-12)
Playing professionally since her days as a Gator, she enters the season playing in Spain after an injury cut last year's action short.
Sophia Witherspoon (1988-91)
After working at the director of basketball operations at FAU last year, Witherspoon returns to her prep alma mater as Head Coach at Fort Pierce Central High.
