This is the second consecutive week a Gator picked up SEC honors. Last week, junior Savannah Jordan (Offensive Player of the Week) and Sarah Troccoli (Freshman of the Week) were announced winners on Aug. 31.
Sharp's Performance Last Week:
The first and final goals in the Gators' 3-2 overtime win versus Oklahoma State on Sept. 4 were also the first two goals of the season for Sharp. Her first, off an assist from Christen Westphal, was a left-footed shot from eight yards in the opening half to tie the match.
The decisive goal came when Sharp pounced on the loose ball in the box and buried a low, right-footed shot to the far post with just 19 seconds remaining in the first overtime. It was the first game-winning goal in Sharp's Gator career.
Her golden goal Friday marked the latest ever for the Gators in the first overtime.
Sharp is now third among the Gators with two goals and four points.
