
Gators Begin 2016 Season at USA F3 Futures

PLANTATION, Fla. - The No. 24-ranked University of Florida men's tennis team is off to Plantation, Fla. this weekend for the International Tennis Federation (ITF) USA F3 Futures. The Gators have been training in Plantation since Wednesday afternoon to prepare for the 2016 spring season.
The Futures tournament will be the Gators' first matches since the team ended the fall season at the SEC Fall Tournament and the National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in November. UF will look to build upon the 2015 season that saw the Gators fall to Pepperdine in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
With five ranked singles players and two ranked doubles tandems that includes seniors Diego Hidalgo and Gordon Watson as the No. 3-ranked doubles pair, the Gators will be in the hunt for another NCAA Tournament berth under head coach Bryan Shelton.

The Gators will begin the 2016 dual match season next Sunday, January 17 with a doubleheader against Troy and Stetson that begins at 11:00 a.m. ET.
