Following a bye week, the Gators are anxious to hit the field this weekend for the 94th Florida-Georgia rivalry game.
The City of Jacksonville, who has hosted the rivalry game since 1933, is home once again to the annual Florida-Georgia rivalry game. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29 at EverBank Field. The game will be broadcast nationally on CBS.
In addition to the game, the weekend will include events and activities such as the 21st Florida-Georgia Hall of Fame Luncheon, RV City, the Florida-Georgia Tailgate Party, a Friday night concert featuring the Avett Brothers and the Georgia-Florida Fan Experience, an interactive game day fan experience featuring SEC Nation with hosts Tim Tebow, Maria Taylor, Marcus Spears and ESPN radio's Paul Finebaum.
The City of Jacksonville will host six Sideline Safety Zones in the Sports Complex and throughout downtown Jacksonville. The Sideline Safety Zones will provide free assistance ranging from first aid, transportation, direction, telephone service, cell phone charging stations, food, water, and more. Heavy traffic is expected on game day and fans are strongly encouraged to arrive five hours early. In addition, fans should consider utilizing transportation alternatives such as the JTA Gameday Xpress. Information regarding Gameday Xpress locations and shuttle stops can be found on GAFLjax.com.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is committed to providing the most current public safety and traffic information for the 2016 Georgia-Florida weekend festivities. JSO coordinates with the City of Jacksonville, the University of Georgia and the University of Florida to provide the information fans need to make the most of the weekend. All event information related to public safety, road closures and traffic can also be found on JSO's website at www.jaxsheriff.org under "Traffic Information/Special Event Road Closures" in the middle of the homepage. Metal Detectors/Security Screening: Metal detectors will be used for security screening at all stadium gates at Everbank Field.
Bag Policy: Fans are permitted to carry a hand-sized clutch bag or a bag no larger than 12" x 6" x 12". Fans are encouraged to use clear bags if at all possible.
Stadium Construction: Due to the facility project currently under construction on the South end of Everbank Field, fans are encouraged to make their way into the stadium early. To assist with pedestrian traffic around the construction area there will be a lane installed to connect Lot D and Lot J for foot traffic.
