Gators Ranked in First CSCAA Poll of Season

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The College Swimming Coaches Association of America released its first CSCAA/TYR top-25 swimming & diving poll Wednesday, and Florida comes in at No. 8 on the Division I men's poll with 192 points and No. 18 on the Division I women's poll with 84 points.
The Gators, who are 1-4 on both the men's and women's sides, are coming off a road sweep from Texas (No. 2 men, No. 7 women) and Indiana (No. 1 men, No. 12 women). Earlier in the season, Florida defeated Florida State, whose women's team received three points on the poll, and finished ahead of Florida Gulf Coast, Miami (FL), Nova Southeastern and Keiser in the All-Florida Invitational.
Florida next travels to Athens to face Georgia, which is ranked seventh in the men's poll and eighth in the women's, on Friday in the first conference meet for both teams.
Poll rankings are compiled by CSCAA member coaches and released biweekly. The next polls will be published on Nov. 9.
