Last meeting:
Last year when the two teams met in Gainesville, Florida responded from a 1-0 halftime deficit to take a 4-1 win over Mississippi. Christen Westphal put the Gators on the board after just 29 seconds of second-half play for her first goal since 2013. Brooke Sharp scored the go-ahead goal in the 78th minute off a four-yard shot. Then Betsy Middleton headed in a Westphal corner kick in the 82nd minute for her first goal of the season. Savannah Jordan scored the Gators' latest regulation goal of 2015 when she put in the ball from seven yards in the 89th minute.

The Gators in Thursday's Action:
In Thursday's home action, Florida took a 3-1 win over Georgia off goals from a pair of seniors. Meggie Dougherty Howard scored the only goal of the opening half in the 43rd minute when she put in the pass from Rachelle Smith. Early in the second half, Jordan converted a penalty kick and then scored off an assist from Brooke Sharp in the 67th minute. The Bulldogs prevented the shutout with a goal from Mariel Gutierrez in the 73rd minute. Jordan (10 goals, 7 assists) and Dougherty Howard (5g, 4a) are one-two for the Gators in 2016 goals and points. Start time for Thursday's match was moved up two hours to 4 p.m. to avoid the weather as Hurricane Matthew approached the state of Florida.
