Four Gators on NSCAA All-South Region Teams

Meggie Dougherty Howard, Savannah Jordan and Gabby Seiler on first team - Kristen Cardano on third team.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Four Gators are part of the 2016 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-South Region teams. The Gators placed a trio on the NSCAA All-South Region first team – Meggie Dougherty Howard, Savannah Jordan and Gabby Seiler. Junior defender Kristen Cardano is on the All-Region third team.
The same four players also earned 2016 All-Southeastern Conference honors and were named to the SEC All-Tournament team.
Jordan is a four-time All-South Region first-team selection. Dougherty Howard was on the 2015 All-South Region second team and Seiler was on the 2014 All-South Region second team as a sophomore at the University of Georgia. This is Cardano's first All-South Region honor.

First team:

Forward – Savannah Jordan: All-SEC first team for fourth consecutive year – only other Gator to earn four consecutive All-SEC first-team honors is Gator Great Abby Wambach…Second in SEC with 41 points and 16 goals…In NCAA Division I statistics, tied for eighth in points and T-9th in goals…SEC Offensive Player of the Week (Week 1, Week 8)…Four double-goal matches (at No. 15 UCLA, at Oklahoma State, vs. Georgia, at Mississippi)…Turned in 21 multi-goal matches as a Gator…No. 2 on Florida's career goals (81) and points (189)…One of 19 in NCAA Division I history to score 81 or more goals and one of seven to do it since 2000…Third player in NCAA Division I action since 2000 to rank among the nation's top 10 goal scorers each season of collegiate career…Semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy award…College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American first-team selection….Part of U.S. U-23 team in Nordic Tournament in England, scoring three goals in the tournament's three matches.
Defender – Gabby Seiler: All-SEC first team for second time (also in 2014 with Georgia)…Started every match – versatile player who can play midfield, center or outside back…First goal as a Gator came at Kentucky…Also recorded assists at No. 15 UCLA and UK…Played the entirety of 10 matches…Helped the Gators turn in nine shutouts in 2016…Invited to U.S. Under-23 National Team camp (Jan. 18-25, 2016).
All-South Region Third Team:
Defender – Kristen Cardano: All-Southeastern Conference second team…Started 22 matches at center defender, missing Mississippi match with injury…Played the entirety of 16 matches…Helped the Gators turn in nine shutouts in 2016.
The same four players also earned 2016 All-Southeastern Conference honors and were named to the SEC All-Tournament team.
Jordan is a four-time All-South Region first-team selection. Dougherty Howard was on the 2015 All-South Region second team and Seiler was on the 2014 All-South Region second team as a sophomore at the University of Georgia. This is Cardano's first All-South Region honor.
