ATLANTA, Ga. - Gators Morgan Frazier and Natalie Hinds were among the 26 current and former Southeastern Conference student-athletes who participated in the first SEC Corporate Career Tour held in Atlanta Nov. 29-Dec. 1. The event was held in conjunction with the 2016 SEC Fall Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) meeting.
The group visited the headquarters and met with executives and talent acquisition staff at several corporations in the Atlanta area including Chick-fil-A, Boys & Girls Club of America, CNN/Turner Broadcasting System and Jackson Spalding. On the first day, former SEC student-athletes Ben Troupe (an All-American for the Gators and played five seasons in the NFL) and Josh Foliart along with Serviam Partners President Randy Hain gave a presentation on leadership and life after sports. Natalie Hinds and Morgan Frazier found a pair of Gators in Atlanta on the first day of the Southeastern Conference Corporate Career Tour . Ben Troupe (left), a Gator All-American and five-year NFL player, spoke to the participants about leadership and life after sports. Joining them for a Gator chomp is UF grad Kayla Lee (right).
"I really enjoyed this experience. I didn't realize how big the Chick-fil-A company was until we toured it and got to hear from the VP of marketing and VP of operations," Frazier said. "The CNN tour was definitely a highlight as we got to meet with their talent acquisition team and executives. This is in the field I want to pursue when I graduate so this was a wonderful opportunity to meet and hear from those in the field."
Frazier was president of Florida's 2015-16 SAAC and a four-year member of the Gator gymnastics team. She will receive her bachelor's degree in telecommunications in spring of 2017. Hinds, a 20-time All-American and three time SEC 100 freestyle champion, receives her degree in telecommunications later this month. Morgan Frazier joins sportscaster Ernie Johnson on the TNT anchor desk during Thursday's SEC Corporate Tour at CNN/Turner Broadcasting System.
The Fall Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) meeting includes a unique first time experience for meeting participants. The meeting focuses on providing a corporate career tour as a part of the SEC Career Academy. Job opportunities and advice will be shared with these student-athletes seeking career options and exposure.
