Florida gymnastics head coach Jenny Rowland spoke at today's All-Sports Press Conference.
The Gators used their season-best road total to take a 197.75 – 196.65 win at No. 19 Missouri last Friday. The Gators swept the event titles, with sophomore Kennedy Baker taking her first collegiate all-around title at 39.575. Alex McMurtry turned in her collegiate-best of 9.95 to take her second consecutive and third overall balance beam win of 2016. Senior Bridgette Caquatto matched her collegiate-best uneven bars mark of 9.95 for the seventh time of her career to win the event title. Bridget Sloan used the high mark of the evening, 9.975, to win the floor exercise title. She also posted a season-best 9.925 to take her first vault title of 2016.
Another top-10 match-up in the Stephen C. O'Connell Center is set for this Friday when the Gators face No. 7 Louisiana State. Florida is the nation's only team to play host to a top-10 opponent for each home meet so far this season. Meet time is set for 6:45 p.m. ET and the first 500 fans Friday receive a Gator gymnastics tumbler!
Tickets for Friday's meet are $5 for adults, while children 17 and under and UF students with a Gator1 card are admitted free. Buy One, Get One tickets available to those showing a UF Alumni Association or UF Gator1 identification. Stop by the Gator Ticket Office (M-Fr, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) to purchase tickets or visit the on-line site.
