Florida gymnastics head coach Jenny Rowland spoke at today's All-Sports Press Conference.
The Gators turned in the nation's third-highest total of 2016 Friday in their win over North Carolina. It was the last meet of the regular season and also was the home finale for Florida's senior class - Bridgette Caquatto, Bianca Dancose-Giambattisto, Morgan Frazier and Bridget Sloan. Two Gators added to their season's perfect marks as sophomore Alex McMurtry anchored Florida's uneven bars lineup with her second 10.0. She is the nation's only gymnast to earn a 10.0 on bars in 2016. Sloan's final routine in the O'Connell Center was a floor exercise 10.0. She's scored two perfect beam marks earlier this season and her career 10.0 total stands at a team-record eight. McMurtry, Sloan and sophomore Kennedy Baker shared the vault win at 9.925. Sloan equaled the nation's top all-around total for the second time (39.775) to take her sixth win of the season.
Rowland also thanked the gymnastics fans who came out to meets this season. Florida's 2016 season attendance average of 7,433 per meet set the program's record.
Next up, No. 2 Florida heads to the 2016 Southeastern Conference Championships, set for March 19 in the Verizon Arena in North Little Rock, Arkansas. The Gators are the top seed and will compete in Session II which begins at 6 p.m. ET and airs live on the SEC Network. The meet also streams on SEC Network +.
