Sammi Burgess tabbed Attacker of Week, Nicole Graziano Midfielder of Week
NEW YORK -- Make it three consecutive BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week honors for redshirt senior Nicole Graziano, who continues to be a key cog in the Gators' 9-0 undefeated season so far, while junior Sammi Burgess was tabbed the BIG EAST Attacker of the Week after her stellar contributions in UF's wins over No. 14 Boston College and No. 17 Towson Friday and Monday, respectively.
Graziano and Burgess combined for 13 of Florida's 28 goals last week offensively as the Orange and Blue added two more ranked wins to be one of just four undefeated teams in the nation. Graziano claimed eight draw controls and caused six turnovers -- tying the UF single-game record Monday with five CT against Towson -- to lead the Orange and Blue. Burgess posted a team-high nine points between UF's tilts with the Eagles and Tigers, leads Florida with 19 goals this season and has scored in every game in 2016 so far.
Florida will welcome another undefeated squad in No. 1 Maryland (5-0) to Donald R. Dizney Stadium Saturday (March 19) at noon. The first 500 fans to the Gators-Terps showdown will receive a free Florida Lacrosse Tank Top, and the game will additionally be a Rowdy Reptiles Check-In.
