No. 2 Gator Gymnasts Finishes Regular Season SEC Action Friday at No. 23 Kentucky

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The final weekend of regular season Southeastern Conference action sends Florida to Kentucky for a dual meet on Friday, March 4. Meet time is set for 7 p.m. ET in the Memorial Coliseum.

Friday's meet streams live on the SEC Network +. Alicia Sacramone Quinn, who joined Florida's Bridget Sloan on the U.S.'s 2008 Olympic team, along with Jenn Hildreth will call the action Friday.

Gators' in Last Week's Action:
The slenderest of margins gave No. 7 LSU a197.70 – 197.875 win over the Gators in front of Stephen C. O'Connell Center crowd of 7,129 on Feb. 26. It was the first regular-season loss for UF since Jan. 18, 2008 (43 consecutive regular-season home wins).
Florida equaled its season high team totals for vault (49.50) and balance beam (49.525), but the Gators score was held back by bobbles or misses across the final three events. Sophomore Kennedy Baker took her second straight all-around win and her total of 39.625 was just off her collegiate best (39.65) set earlier this season. Freshman Alicia Boren was runner-up with a collegiate-best 39.60. Boren and sophomore Alex McMurtry used collegiate-best balance beam marks of 9.95 to share the event title. Senior Bridgette Caquatto took her second consecutive uneven bars win with a 9.925.
Four Gators competed as all-arounders, marking the first time UF had as many all-arounders since the eighth meet of the 2014 season. McMurtry added floor exercise to her collegiate competitive repertoire and her 9.90 equals the highest ever in a UF floor debut.
About the Wildcats:
Kentucky posted its season-best last Friday in its 197.225 - 196.70 loss at No. 9 Arkansas. The Wildcats upset then No. 15 Missouri 196.05 – 194.675 in Feb. 12 home action. Three Wildcats have competed as all-arounders in 2016 – Sidney Dukes (season-best: 39.375), Katie Stuart (39.325) and Alex Hyland (39.10). Dukes picked up the SEC Freshman of the Week honors for week IV.
