The trio of Gators were honored after opening BIG EAST play 1-0.
NEW YORK -- After opening BIG EAST play with a 16-2 win over Vanderbilt Saturday, Gator sophomore Allie Pavinelli, redshirt senior Nicole Graziano and junior Taylor Bresnahan were honored by the league office Tuesday afternoon. Pavinelli was tabbed the Attacker of the Week, Graziano the Middie of the Week and Bresnahan was named to the Weekly Honor Roll after Florida improved to 10-1 overall with the victory over the Dores.
Pavinelli scored a career high three goals in UF's win against the Commodores -- her first career hat trick -- while also coming up with a team and career-tying two draw controls. Pavinelli and Graziano combined for half of Florida's goals against Vandy, as the veteran middie Graziano netted a season-high five scores and six points -- including the first goal of the game to give the Gators control from the get-go.
Anchored by Bresnahan, the Gators defensive unit limited the Dores to a season-low two goals. Bresnahan netted her fourth goal of the season to give the Orange and Blue seven games with a defensive score this season. She additionally added a team high two caused turnovers.
Pavinelli picked up her first career weekly honor, while Graziano was named Middie of the Week for the fourth time this season. Bresnahan has now been honored twice after being the Feb. 16 Defensive Player of the Week.
Florida continues BIG EAST play Saturday, and wraps up a five-game home stand, when the Orange and Blue host Temple -- head coach Amanda O'Leary's alma mater -- at noon.
