GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida's Bridget Sloan picked up her fifth Southeastern Conference Gymnast of the Week honor for 2016, the league announced Tuesday.
Sloan now owns an even dozen SEC Gymnast of the Week honors for her career. A Gator has received at least one of the league's three weekly awards for seven of the nine weeks of the season.
Sloan's Performance:
In the Gators' win at No. 23 Kentucky last Friday, Sloan won her fifth all-around title of the season. Her total of 39.65 shares the nation's ninth highest total for 2016.
In addition to the all-around, Sloan won two apparatus titles. Her 10.0 on beam is second of the season on the event and the third of her collegiate career. She is the only gymnast to earn a 10.0 twice on beam in 2016 competition. It was her seventh 10.0 as a Gator, making her Florida's career leader in perfect marks (three beam, two bars, one vault, floor). She also took the evening's uneven bars title at 9.95.
Her three event wins moves her into sole possession of third on Gators Career Charts for event wins (85) and all-around titles (23). She is one away on both charts to moving into a tie for second.
Sloan is ranked in nation's top 15 for each event – No. 5 all-around (39.505 RQS), No. 2 bars (9.930), No. T5 beam (9.910), No. T6 floor (9.930) and No. T14 vault (9.890).
