TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The No. 6 University of Florida women's tennis team defeated the No. 56 University of Alabama Crimson Tide, 6-1 on Friday night in Tuscaloosa. The Gators are now 10-0 in SEC play and 15-2 overall.
The Gators once again jumped out to an early 1-0 lead by securing the doubles point. The No. 7-ranked pairing of
Brooke Austin and
Kourtney Keegan defeated the No. 68-ranked Routliffe and Maynetto, 6-2. Playing on court two,
Anna Danilina and
Brianna Morgan clinched the point for the Orange and Blue with a 6-2 victory of their own.
In singles action, Austin was first off of the court with a 6-1, 6-3 routing of No. 36 Erin Routliffe. Shortly after, Keegan and Danilina finished their matches to clinch the win for the Gators. Keegan defeated Maynetto, 6-1, 6-2 and Danilina clinched the win 6-1, 6-3 on court five.
Josie Kuhlman and
Spencer Liang would contribute two more wins for Florida as the remaining singles matches were played out.
Florida will continue its stretch in the state of Alabama with a contest against the No. 13 Auburn Tigers on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.

Florida continued to play well in doubles and used that momentum to work through singles. We have a lot of talent on this team and I think that we showed that depth in our lineup tonight.
