GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida softball team, winners of two of the last three NCAA Championships, will host a meeting for anyone interested in trying out for the 2016-2017 squad in two weeks.
Interested full-time enrolled University of Florida students are required to attend a 5:15 p.m. meeting on Friday, Sept. 9 at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.
UF won the program's sixth SEC Championship last season by going 20-4 in league play. In addition, Florida picked up the No. 1 National Seed in the 2016 NCAA Tournament, UF's eighth-straight top-five national seed.
Overall, UF finished 2016 with a 56-7 overall record but opened its season with a 33-1 mark, which was the best start to a season in school history. The Gators recorded their eighth 50-win season in program history.
