FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Florida soccer team lost 2-1 at Arkansas Friday in a weather-delayed match held in front of 1,155 at the Razorback Field. It was the first Arkansas win in the 21-match series, which started in 1995.
The weather delay spanned almost two hours due to lightning and heavy rains.
Scoring in the Match:
Two goals from junior Jessi Hartzler in a three-minute span gave the Razorbacks a 2-0 halftime lead. Her first was a 20-yard strike that scored at the far upper slot in the 23
rd minute. Then in the 25
th minute, Hartzler headed in a corner kick from Claire Kelley.
The first corner kick of the second half resulted in a Gator goal.

The Gators outshot the Razorback 15-3 in the second half, but couldn't find the tying goal. One near chance for the equalizer came in the 58
th minute when Pelayo's shot was cleared off the line by Arkansas' Qyara Winston.

What Burleigh Said:
On tonight's match:
"Bottom line, we failed to impose ourselves in the first half and they took advantage of that. In the second half, I thought we played really, really remarkable. I love our resilience to come back. We created tons of chances but couldn't get the equalizer. This is a good lesson for us to learn at this point of the season." - head coach
Becky Burleigh
