Gators Ranked in Both 2017 Preseason Polls

GAINESVILLE, Fla. –The back-to-back SEC regular-season champion Florida Gators were picked inside the top five of the 2017 USA Today/NFCA Coaches' Poll & ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 Poll for the upcoming season. It's the fourth consecutive season that the program has been ranked inside the top five of both preseason polls.
The Gators tallied a total of 671 points in this year's USA Today/NFCA Coaches' Poll which is good for a share of fourth place in the rankings alongside fellow SEC member LSU. No.1 Oklahoma, No.2 Auburn and No.3 Florida State opened ahead of Florida in the initial poll.
A total of 436 points were accumulated by Florida in this year's ESPN.com/USA Softball Preseason Collegiate Top 25 where the Gators claimed the No. 3 spot behind No.1 Oklahoma and No.2 Auburn.
Florida is scheduled to face nine other programs ranked inside this year's preseason top 25 and numerous others that are currently receiving votes. Out of those nine preseason top 25 opponents, the Gators will face preseason ranked No. 2 Auburn, No. 3/4 Florida State, No.12/10 Georgia, No. 17/19 Missouri and No. 25/t24 USF at home inside Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.

The team will take the field for the first time of the 2017 season on Friday, Feb. 10 in Tampa at the USF – Wilson DeMarini Classic against Illinois State. SEC play is scheduled to open up on March 11 at home inside KSP Stadium against No. 17 Missouri with the SEC tournament set for May 10-13 at the Sherri Parker Lee Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Single game tickets went on sale Tuesday, Jan. 31, and can be purchased through the Gator Ticket Office.
