With Luke Del Rio out for the rest of the season, UF will turn back to Feleipe Franks at quarterback.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida's redshirt freshman quarterback Feleipe Franks will make his fourth start for the Gators on Saturday against LSU as he returns to the starting lineup after veteran Luke Del Rio was lost for the season last weekend due to an injured shoulder.
Franks replaced Del Rio in the second quarter of Saturday's 38-24 win over Vanderbilt. The Crawfordville, Fla., native hit 10 of 14 passes for 185 yards. Meanwhile, Florida relied on its running game as it provided 246 yards on 51 carries and five touchdowns.
Florida will continue to split carries between Mark Thompson, Lamical Perine and Malik Davis.
Wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland sustained an ankle injury in the win over Vanderbilt and is questionable for Saturday's game. With that, Florida will rely on sophomore wide receivers Josh Hammond and Freddie Swain to fill the void.
The Gators have continued to get better offensive line and tight end play over the past three weeks. Those positions remained unchanged from a week ago.
Defensively, rookie defensive tackle Kyree Campbell will miss the next weeks due to an injury. Freshmen Tedarrell Slaton and Elijah Conliffe will look to fill his role on the defensive line.
UF's linebackers core and defensive backs remain unchanged from last week. However, look for redshirt sophomore Kylan Johnson to continue to get more reps at linebacker as he works his way back from a hamstring injury.
