Gators in the NFL – Week 12

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Another Sunday full of NFL action has come and gone, and 48 Gators on 27 teams took to the field for week 12 action on the gridiron.
Gators can be found all throughout the NFL, and the 48 current Gators in the NFL puts Florida inside the top-5 for the most players from one university.
Louis Murphy had a solid week for the 49ers, recording two receptions for 14 yards and a touchdown. Murphy was a fourth round pick in 2009 by the Oakland Raiders. While at UF Murphy was a member of two national championship teams. During the 2007 season he became one of Tim Tebow's favorite targets on the outside and helped lead the Gators to their third national title in 2008. In his four year career at UF he recorded 77 receptions for 1,245 yards and 13 touchdowns and recorded at least one reception in each of his final 27 games as a Gator.
