GAINESVILLE, Fla. –
KeVaughn Allen has been named to the
Preseason Oscar Robertson Trophy Watch List, as announced by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Monday.
The Florida junior is one of 32 players on the list to begin the season. The award recognizes the most outstanding college basketball player in the country at the end of the season.
The award is to be presented to the national player of the year by Robertson at the NCAA Final Four in San Antonio.
Allen, who was also named to the Jerry West Award Watch List, led the Gators in scoring in 2016-17 with 14.0 ppg. The All-SEC selection helped Florida to a fifth Elite Eight appearance in the last seven year's last season.Â
With 923 points in his first two seasons, Allen is set to become the Gators 51st player in school history to eclipse 1,000 points in his career.
