Gators in the NFL – Week 16

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Another weekend full of NFL action has come and gone, and 47 Gators on 27 teams took to the field for week 16 action on the gridiron.
Gators can be found all throughout the NFL, and the 47 current Gators in the NFL puts Florida inside the top-5 for the most players from one university.
Reggie Nelson, an 11 year veteran for the Oakland Raiders had a great game in primetime on Monday Night Football. The former DBU star was a first-round pick back in 2007 by the Jacksonville Jaguars. While at Florida Nelson helped the Gators win the 2006 National Title while also earning consensus All-America honors. In his career he recorded 97 tackles, 66 solo and 31 assisted with seven interceptions and a touchdown.
