GAINESVILLE, Fla. – After wrapping up non-conference play Wednesday, the University of Florida women's lacrosse team (8-2, 2-0) returns home to host BIG EAST rival Vanderbilt (5-3, 2-0) on Saturday.
The Gators and Commodores will be meeting for the ninth time, with Florida holding a 6-2 advantage in the series. Florida has won its past six games against Vanderbilt after dropping both contests in its inaugural season (2010).
The opening draw is set for 12 P.M. from Donald R. Dizney Stadium. A live stream of the game will be available via YouTube, with Daniel Gillman and Connor Buckridge on the call.

No. 3 Florida played seven ranked opponents in its first 10 games, finishing with a 5-2 record in those contests. Three Gators have recorded at least 40 points this season (
Sammi Burgess,
Shayna Pirreca, and
Mollie Stevens). The Gator defense has held eight of 10 opponents under their season scoring average, and boasts 187 combined starts between
Taylor Bresnahan,
Caroline Fitzgerald,
Aniya Flanagan and
Cara Trombetta. Sophomore goalkeeper
Haley Hicklen ranks 22nd in the NCAA with 91 saves.
Vanderbilt has dropped a pair of games to ranked opponents this season: No. 16 Elon and No. 20 Louisville. Senior attacker Jill Doherty (15 goals, 18 assists) and senior goalkeeper Callahan Kent (39 saves, .476 save percentage) lead the Commodores.
