Barnhill Garners Second SEC Weekly Accolade

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Sophomore Kelly Barnhill earned her second SEC Pitcher of the Week award of the season as announced by the league office earlier today. It is the fourth time this season that a Gator has earned the Pitcher of the Week award.
Barnhill was sensational in a pair of complete-game performances against Georgia this past weekend at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.
The Marietta, Ga. native fanned 21 Bulldogs through 14.0 innings of work and only allowed three walks on the way to the program's seventh & eighth shutouts over Top 25 opponents.
The 14-strikeout performance in the series finale Monday night was just two shy of Barnhill's season-high where she turned away 16 Auburn batters earlier this season. Both instances were season-highs for the opponents.
???????Barnhill currently leads the nation with a 0.22 ERA.
The Gators will be back in action this Wednesday at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium against No. 1 Florida State in the Fresh from Florida Sunshine Showdown. The contest is slated for 7 p.m.
