GAINESVILLE, Fla. –
The No. 1-ranked University of Florida softball team returns to SEC play Friday against Ole Miss in a three-game series at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium. Game one of the series is slated for a 6 p.m. start.
The first two games of this weekend's series will be broadcast on SEC Network + available via WatchESPN.com or the Watch ESPN app while the series finale will be broadcast on the SEC Network. All Florida softball games can be listened to on WGGG (92.1 FM/1230 AM) & WMOP (100.1 FM/900 AM).
On Saturday the Gators' uniform will be accented with yellow elements to bring awareness to pediatric cancer and in the remembrance of the lives of
Heather Braswell and Ian Lockwood.
Florida Notables
- The Gators currently pace the league in the SEC standings with a 15-2 mark with six conference games left to play. Tennessee and Texas A&M follow closely behind with an 11-3 record in conference play and Auburn currently ranks fourth in the standings with a 10-5 record.
- Junior Kayli Kvistad sits with 49 walks on the season, which is tied for the single-season program record with former Gators Aja Paculba (2009) and Lauren Haeger (2015). Kvistad's 49 walks also ranks second in the nation with a 1.11 walks per game average.
- Pitcher Kelly Barnhill (18-0) is the only pitcher in the nation left undefeated in the circle with a minimum of 15 wins on the season.
- Barnhill swept this week's pitcher awards as she became the first Gator in program history to earn SEC Pitcher of the Week, Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I Pitcher of the Week, USA Softball Co-Player of the Week and ESPNW Player of the Week. She's also the first pitcher to earn SEC Pitcher of the Week three times in the same season since Stacy Nelson in 2009.
- Florida currently leads the nation in shutouts with a total of 26 on the year and 10 in SEC in play alone.
All-Time Series
The Gators hold an all-time record of 45-8 over the Rebels and won the last six meetings between the two programs. The last loss to Ole Miss occurred March 7, 2014 by the score of 2-0 in Gainesville at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.
Since then Florida has outscored Ole Miss 31-6 which includes a trio of shutouts with the most recent occurring in a 1-0 effort at last year's SEC Tournament in Starkville, Miss.

Aleshia Ocasio earned her 13th win in the circle during Saturday's series-clinching win, as No. 2 Florida (37-3, 11-3 SEC) downed Ole Miss (28-12, 4-7 SEC), 6-1. The Ole Miss Softball Complex held a program-record crowd of 1,342 fans on Saturday night.
With tonight's win, Florida secured its 12th series victory in its last 13 matchups with the Rebels. In addition, Florida is now 11-3 in conference play, which is its best start since 2013 when the Gators began 12-2.

Kelly Barnhill picked up her 14th win in the circle, as No. 2 Florida defeated Ole Miss, 4-2, to sweep its third SEC series of the season. The Gators (38-3/12-3 SEC) swept the Rebels (28-13/4-8 SEC) for the ninth time in their series history.
In addition, UF has now won 15 of the past 16 matchups between these two schools and Florida has now won 13 straight games over Ole Miss in Oxford.

Following Thursday's shutout victory over the Rebels, Florida has not allowed a run in 24-straight innings and is just six frame's shy of its season-long mark of 30-consecutive scoreless innings. In addition, the Gators are now error-free in 26-straight innings following Thursday's contest.
