
Tosti, Horsfield Garner Golfweek All-America Honors

Alejandro Tosti and Sam Horsfield were recognized on Golfweek’s All-America list.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A pair of Gators collected All-America honors this week, as junior Alejandro Tosti and sophomore Sam Horsfield were recognized on Golfweek's All-America list.
Tosti was recognized as a first team honoree, after being name a First Team All-SEC performer one month ago. The junior had a standout season as he led the Gators in stroke average (70.04) and won a team-high two tournaments, including the stroke play portion of the SEC Championship where he triumphed after a two-hole playoff.
Horsfield, who recently announced that he is forgoing the final two years of his eligibility to turn pro, was tabbed as an honorable mention performer. Horsfield was also named a Second Team All-SEC honoree as he recorded a team-best four top-five finishes and eight top-25 finishes. He has also carded the most birdies this season (113), even or under par rounds (20) and even or under par tournaments (6).
Overall last season, Florida has five tournament victories, which marked only the eighth time in program history that the UF achieved that. In addition, it was the first time since 2011 that Florida reached that total. Individually on the season, the Orange and Blue have had three separate individual medalists, also the most since 2011.
