Burgman, Chapman Named to SEC Community Service Team

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Senior hurdler Marques Burgman and sophomore distance runner Emily Chapman were named to the 2017 SEC Track & Field Community Service Team, the conference office announced Thursday evening (June 1).
In addition to qualifying for the NCAA East Preliminary in the 110-meter hurdles, Burgman completed over 20 hours of community service. The Melbourne, Fla. native, who was also the program's Community Service Team honoree last year, spent nearly all his hours mentoring students at J.J. Finley Elementary School.
Chapman ran the steeplechase for the Gators this season, her first such races in the event. In the community, the Melbourne, Fla. native completed nearly 30 hours of service, dividing her time between visits to UF Health Shands Hospital and mentoring sessions with students at Hidden Oak Elementary.
