Celano, Crouch, Dyer, Garcia, Neale and Orr Receive Honors
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Six Florida Gators men's golfers were placed on the 2017 Southeastern Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll, announced Monday by league commissioner Greg Sankey.
The 2017 SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2016-17 summer, fall and spring terms.
Both Florida seniors in AJ Crouch and Ryan Orr received honors from the conference in their final season.
This season was another historic one as junior Alejandro Tosti became the 22nd SEC Tournament Champion in program history helping the Gators make their 53rd NCAA Tournament appearance. Florida was also the top seed of a regional for the first time in the JC Deacon era.
The 2017 SEC First Year Academic Honor Roll is scheduled for release Wednesday.
To be recognized for the SEC Academic Honor Roll, each student-athlete must meet the following criteria: 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letterwinner or have participated on a varsity team for two years if non-scholarship; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.
