The Gators capped a memorable 2016-17 athletic season with three national team titles in a 36-day span.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Florida Gators are among the most prominent brands in college athletics.
Whether walking down a sidewalk in New York City or through an airport in Tokyo, Florida fans know it's not unusual to bump into someone else in orange and blue and be greeted by the familiar "Go Gators."
The Gator Nation really is everywhere.
During the 2016-17 Florida Athletics season, the Gators provided fans with a lot to cheer about. It was a banner year for Florida as the athletic department transitioned from longtime athletic director Jeremy Foley to newcomer Scott Stricklin, a veteran of the Southeastern Conference who quickly experienced how the Gators make it interesting well beyond the end of football season.
Florida won national championships in women's tennis, men's outdoor track and baseball in a span of 36 days to cap a spectacular run of success.
The 2017-18 athletic season is almost here, but before we close the book on 2016-17, here is the Year in Review, a comprehensive report created by the University Athletic Association's communications department.
