GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida finishes its first full weekend of home action Sunday with an evening match versus Syracuse. This is the first visit to Gainesville by the Orange since 2002. The match begins at 7 p.m. at the
Donald R. Dizney Stadium. Admission is free for all Gator soccer regular-season matches.

Friday's Upset Win:
Florida came back twice and then took the lead in the 82
nd minute to upset No. T-1 Stanford 3-2 Friday night at the Dizney Stadium.

Florida tied the match in the 40
th minute off the first goal of the season for junior
Samantha Chung and again when
Gabby Seiler headed in her third score of the season at 78:32.

Laís Araujo's first Gator goal, a six-yard curling shot scoring at the far post, gave Florida the game-winner in the 82
nd minute. Sophomore goalkeeper
Susi Espinoza's 90
th minute stop on a shot by Stanford's top scorer Catarina Macario gave the Gators the upset win. Other notes about Friday's win:

- Both the Gator soccer and volleyball programs upset the nation's top-ranked teams Friday. No. 12 Florida volleyball defeated No. 1 Texas 3-1 as 7,523 fans welcomed the Gators back to the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.
- Florida is now 2-1-1 all-time in home action versus the nation's top-ranked team. The last visit by the top-ranked team was also a Gator win, as UF used a 3-2 score to defeat Florida State on Aug. 30, 2015
- This was Florida's first win versus Stanford in the six-match series. Of the five previous meetings, four went to overtime. The Cardinal lead the all-time series 4-1-1.
- Fourth time since the 2000 season Stanford conceded three or more goals in a match (3-0 loss at Southern California/10-6-16; 3-0 loss at Portland/8-27-05; 4-2 loss at Santa Clara/9-22-00).

About Syracuse:
Syracuse opened the 2017 season with a 2-0 win at Bucknell, a 1-1 2OT tie versus Connecticut and 3-2 win at Army West Point on Thursday.

Sophomore Sydney Brackett and senior Alex Lamantagne lead the Orange with two goals each.

Syracuse is picked to finish 13th in the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2017. In 2016, the Orange was 8-8-3 and took 13th in the ACC with a 1-7-2 record.
