
Six Gators Set to Graduate

Cristian Garcia will play the 2017 season as a graduate from the University of Florida.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Summer graduation ceremonies take place on the University of Florida campus this weekend, with one current student-athlete, Cristian Garcia, and five former Gators who have earned their degree. Commencement ceremonies will take place on Saturday in the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.
In addition to Garcia (Sports Management), Bryan Cox, Jr. (Telecommunication), Ahmad Fulwood (Telecommunication), Roderick Johnson (African American Studies), Daniel McMillian (African American Studies) and Matt Rolin (African American Studies) were invited to this weekend's commencement.
A total of 34 current and former Gator student-athletes will participate in spring graduation ceremonies.
Below is a look at the careers of these six Gators:
LB Cristian Garcia
- 2016: Played in all 13 games and started his first-career game in the Outback Bowl against Iowa… Was a reserve linebacker throughout the season, but was a key member on all four special teams units for the Gators… Recorded seven tackles on the season, including a career-high five against Iowa… Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
- 2015: Made his UF debut in the 2016 Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl against Michigan and made two tackles… Joined the team as a walk-on during the 2015 season.
DL Bryan Cox, Jr.
- 2016: Appeared in 11 games and started five… Missed three games due to a pair of injuries… Totaled 19 tackles on the season and recorded a career-high nine stops at Tennessee… Notched six quarterback hurries and forced a fumble at Vanderbilt.
- 2015: Played in 14 games and started 13… Totaled 45 tackles on the season, including 10.5 tackles-for-loss and 3.5 sacks... Also had six quarterback hurries... Forced two fumbles and recovered two fumbles on the year... Notched career-high eight tackles against Vanderbilt.
- 2014: Played in 11 games and started 10 times at defensive end… Racked up 29 total tackles and had 6.0 tackles-for-loss with 4.0 sacks… Earned Honorable Mention CFPA Defensive Lineman of the Week honors after his performance at Tennessee, in which he totaled five tackles and 3.0 sacks… Had five games with four-or-more tackles on the year.
- 2013: Played in eight games, seeing time in the defensive line rotation…totaled five tackles, including two sacks… First career sack came at Kentucky… 2012: Did not see action for the Gators and redshirted.
WR Ahmad Fulwood
- 2016: Played in all 13 games and started once… Caught seven passes for a total of 112 total yards and one touchdown throughout the season… Recorded his best game of the season on senior day against South Carolina when he totaled 48 yards and one touchdown on two catches… Was on one of Florida's top special teams players throughout the season.
- 2015: Played in 14 games and started two… Caught six passes for 61 total yards on the year with a long of 21 yards.
- 2014: Played in all 12 games and started five times at wide receiver… Led the team in receiving yards in the bowl victory against ECU, scoring a career-long 86-yard touchdown on his only catch of the game.
- 2013: Played in all 12 games as a true freshman… Came on midway through the season with 16 of his 17 catches coming in the last seven games… Totaled 127 yards on 17 catches throughout the season… Against Vanderbilt, he caught three passes for 33 yards and scored his first career touchdown… At the time, his 17 receptions were the most by a true freshman wide receiver at Florida since Percy Harvin had 34 catches in 2006.
OL Roderick Johnson
- 2015: Suffered a career-ending injury prior to the season.
- 2014: Improved dramatically in the offseason and worked his way into the regular rotation on the offensive line… Played in all 12 games on the season… Started at right tackle against Kentucky, Alabama and East Carolina… Part of an offensive line that allowed just 17 sacks on the season, fourth-fewest in the SEC.
- 2013: Did not see any action and redshirted.
LB Daniel McMillian
- 2016: Played in 12 games as Florida's sam linebacker when the Gators were not in a nickel defense… Was a key player on Florida's special teams throughout the season… Totaled a career-high 29 tackles for the year as well as one tackle-for-loss, one pass breakup, one interception and one quarterback hurry… Tallied a career-high seven tackles and notched his first-career interception against Iowa in the Outback Bowl.
- 2015: Played in all 14 games as a reserve linebacker and key special teams player… Totaled a career-high 23 tackles… Forced one fumble and broke up two passes on the season.
- 2014: Played in six games, seeing action on special teams and as a reserve linebacker… Totaled 11 tackles on the year… Had a career-high five tackles in the bowl victory over East Carolina.
- 2013: Played in nine games as a true freshman, mostly seeing action on special teams… Recorded two tackles on kickoff coverage.
LB Matt Rolin
- 2015: Appeared in three games, starting two…notched 11 tackles.
- 2014: Did not see any game action while recovering from a torn ACL.
- 2013: Suffered a season ending injury in August camp and redshirted. Was expected to compete for playing time and will have the opportunity to make an impact in the 2014 season… Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
