SEC Nation Headed to Arlington for Advocare Classic
Thursday, August 10, 2017 | Football
The program’s fourth season begins with a Top-20 clash between Florida and Michigan.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The SEC Network's traveling pregame show, SEC Nation, is headed to Arlington, Texas, for the 2017 AdvoCare Classic between Florida and Michigan on Saturday, Sept. 2.
UF alum Laura Rutledge will make her debut as the host, and Heisman Award winner and Gator Great Tim Tebow, former LSU defensive lineman Marcus Spears and ESPN radio's Paul Finebaum, will join her. Meanwhile, Lauren Sisler has joined SEC Nation as a reporter.
This marks Tebow, Spears and Finebaum's fourth season with the show.
The show marks the first time SEC Nation has opened the season from a neutral site game and only the second time the show has aired from a neutral site city during the regular-season. Last season, the Gators beat Georgia, 24-10, in the program's first neutral site contest.
In addition, the show will be a special three-hour edition (9 a.m. – 12 p.m. ET).
Former LSU head coach Les Miles will be a guest analyst, while Florida Ambassador Steve Spurrier will stop by as well.
Fans hoping to catch the show in person will find the SEC Nation set in Lot #3 outside AT&T Stadium on Saturday morning and can park in Lot 4 via AT&T Way starting at 7 a.m. local time. In addition, all five hours (2-7 p.m. ET) of The Paul Finebaum Show will be live from the set on Friday, Sept. 1.

UF will be making its first-ever appearance in the AdvoCare Classic and will be playing its first-ever game at AT&T Stadium. Meanwhile, UM will make its second appearance in the series and, for the second time, will face an SEC foe. Michigan also opened the 2012 season in what was then known as the Cowboys Classic, falling to eventual national champion Alabama 41-14 before a crowd of 90,413, the largest crowd to ever see a college football game in AT&T Stadium.
Series History
Although this is the first regular season meeting between the schools, it is the fourth time they will go head-to-head on the gridiron as the previous three contests were in bowl games. Michigan is undefeated in the series with postseason wins against the Gators in the 2003 Outback Bowl (38-30), 2008 Capital One Bowl (41-35) and 2016 Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl (41-7).
