GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The seventh season of NFL Network's Emmy-nominated series A Football Life continues Friday at 9 p.m., and details the life of NFL all-time leading rusher and former Florida Gators running back Emmitt Smith.
At the University of Florida from 1987-89, Smith was a consensus first-team All-America selection and the SEC Player of the Year in 1989. He set 58 records during his time as a Gator, and finished his career with 3,928 rushing yards, the top total in school history.
The one-hour show will be streamed live on smartphones through NFL Mobile from Verizon, and via Watch NFL Network on tablet (NFL Mobile, Watch NFL Network and NFL on Windows 10 apps), PC (NFL.com/watch), Xbox One and Xbox 360 (NFL on Xbox app) and other connected TV devices (NFL app on Apple TV, PlayStation 4, Android TV and Amazon Fire TV).
The NFL's all-time leading rusher, as well as the record holder for the most career rushing touchdowns in the regular season, the playoffs and the Super Bowl, Smith is statistically in a category all by himself. Everywhere Smith played, he revived those teams and ultimately left them in a better place than they were when he arrived. Emmitt Smith: A Football Life details Smith's incredible football career, marked by the lofty numbers he amassed on the field and the enduring legacy he has had off the field.
"That moment wasn't just for Emmitt Smith. That moment was for the village of people that have poured into me and helped shape me into the person that I have become, the football player that I once was and hopefully the father that I am. Period." – Emmitt Smith
