Florida tied for lead thru 36-holes of Trinity Forest

Alejandro Tosti and Andy Zhang still in contention on the individual leaderboard
DALLAS, Texas. -- Through 36-holes of the Trinity Forest Invitational, the Gators are still atop the leaderboard.

After posting a nine-under par round on day one, Florida dropped back one stroke to posting a 560 (-8) score through two rounds of play.

The Gator pairing of Alejandro Tosti and Andy Zhang are also still in contention on the individual leaderboard with both sitting inside the top 10 entering the final day of play.

Despite recording his first above par round of the season, Tosti is still tied for sixth at three-under par sitting just three back of co-leaders Brandon Mancheno of Auburn and Justin Suh of USC.

Tosti was as low as seven-under for the round after tallying a three-under front nine but, trouble on the back had him slip to one-over.

Zhang carded a 71 (E) on the second day of competition as he still sits at two-under for the tournament and tied for eighth on the leaderboard.

John Axelsen recorded the lone under-par round for the Gators Monday finishing with a 70 (-1) which included a Florida high six birdies.

The final round of competition will start tomorrow morning at 10:20 a.m. (ET).

Coach's Take
On round Gators play in round two -- "Today was another solid day for our team but, it was very different than yesterday. This morning, we started off very well but, finished poorly. A round like today challenges your mental toughness as it pushes you to only remember the negative finish. It's our job to see and grow from the many positives we had today too."

On Axelsen's play -- "I am also very pleased for our freshman, John Axelsen. His round of 70 today was his best as a Gator to date. He's going to be a cornerstone of our future and we saw a small piece of that today."

On having a share of the lead  -- "We are tied for the lead with 18 holes to go. You can't ask for any more than that. Tomorrow is exactly the type of opportunity we practice and prepare so hard for. " - Coach JC Deacon
