DALLAS, Texas. -- After having their second nine-under round of the tournament, the Gators won the inaugural Trinity Forest Invitational.
Florida ran away from the field on the final day winning the event by 10 strokes as it finished the week with a score of 835 (-17).
This is the first tournament victory for preseason No. 10 Florida as its last win came at the Mason Rudolph in the spring season. The Gators were helped on by having two of the top three finishers in the field.
Gordon Neale shot up the leaderboard in the final round carding a career-low 63 (-8) round. Neale recorded an eagle and six birdies keeping his scorecard bogey-free. This helped him move up 20 spots as he finished the event in second place.
Teammate
Andy Zhang was right behind him in a tie for third carding a final round of 67 (-4) which also included an eagle on the par-five 11th.
Both finishes are career-bests for Neale and Zhang.
