Gators Announce Blockbuster Schedule for 2019

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium, which is currently undergoing a $14-million renovation that aims to enhance the championship atmosphere for the program and fans, is scheduled to host 25 regular season games throughout the upcoming 2019 season.
"We're excited to be able to announce our 2019 schedule to our fans." Head Coach Tim Walton said. "With the updates to Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium and the amount of quality opponents we are hosting this year, we are looking forward to having the most competitive and exciting championship atmosphere in the nation."
"Not only our home schedule, but the entire schedule is filled with quality competition, which gives us the opportunity to test ourselves week in and week out."
The Gators, who claimed both the 2018 Southeastern Conference regular season and tournament titles, will open play in the newly renovated KSP Stadium Friday, Feb. 22, against Illinois State and Florida A&M in the Bubly Invitational. UF will play six games over the weekend that will also feature two games against Syracuse and rematches with Redbirds and the Lady Rattlers.
Prior to the first home stand of the 2019 season, the team will hit the road for the first two weeks of competition.
UF will open play at the USF Wilson-DeMarini Tournament (Feb. 8-10) in Tampa for the sixth consecutive season. The tournament features familiar foes Illinois State, Michigan and host institution USF, while the team will also take on Arizona for the first time since 2015 and N.C. State for the first time since 2016.
The following week, the Gators fly to Tempe, Ariz. to compete in Littlewood Classic (Feb. 15-17) hosted by 2018 Women's College World Series participant Arizona State. UF is scheduled take on the Sun Devils along with Illinois State, San Diego, Utah State and Central Michigan.
Florida's competition against 2018 WCWS participants continues in Fullerton, Calif. at the Judi Garman Classic (Feb 28.-March 2). The team's slate of games features WCWS participants Oregon, UCLA and Washington, along with New Mexico and California State University – Northridge.
However, prior to the start of the Judi Garman, the Gators and the Bruins will square off Feb. 27, at Anderson Family Field on the campus of Judi Garman Classic host Cal State Fullerton.
The arrival of March signals the start of SEC play and the Gators will welcome Tennessee (March 8-10), Arkansas (April 5-7), Alabama (April 19-20) and Mississippi State (May 3-5) for three-game series. The Alabama series will consist of a doubleheader Friday and single game Saturday, while the other three conference slates will entail a single game played on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Gators road slate of conference games this year includes trips to LSU (March 16-18), Ole Miss (March 29-31), Texas A&M (April 12-14) and Auburn (April 26-28). The SEC Tournament (May 8-11) is set to take place in College Station, Texas at the Aggies recently built Davis Diamond.
Sprinkled throughout the 2019 season are a several midweek competitions. The first of the midweeks will be when the Gators head to Jacksonville to take on Jacksonville (Fla.) Feb. 20. The following midweeks throughout the year will consist of UCF (March 13), Minnesota (March 20), Bethune-Cookman (March 27) and USF (April 10), all at KSP Stadium.
Finally, the Fresh from Florida Sunshine Showdown between Florida and Florida State is scheduled for April 3, at KSP Stadium and then April 17, at Joanne Graf Field in Tallahassee.

Schedule Notes
- The Gators will face five 2018 Women's College World Series participants, including last year's national champions, in seven games throughout the regular season.
- UCLA, Oregon, Washington, Arizona State and Florida State.
- The program also takes on 19 teams that received bits to the 2018 NCAA tournament, 11 of which who went on to the Super Regional round.
- This will be the sixth consecutive season that Florida will open the year at the USF Wilson-DeMarini Tournament.
