SURPRISE, Ariz. – For the fifth time this fall, the Florida Gators have a doubles team in the quarterfinal of a tournament.
And for the third time, it is sophomore
Brian Berdusco and junior
Johannes Ingildsen. The pair downed Florida State's Alex Knaff and Sebastian Arcila in a tough 3-set match. Berdusco and Ingildsen took the first set in dominating fashion 6-1. They turned around and dropped the second set 3-6 and Florida State forced the deciding set. The Gators took the tiebreak 1-0 (7) to advance to the quarterfinals.
Andy Andrade faced the No. 1 seeded Petros Chrysochos of Wake Forest. Andrade dropped the first set 2-6, but fought back and took the second set 7-5 and made the upset seem realistic. He rolled out to a 3-2 lead in the third but Chrysochos came storming back, took the final set 3-6 and eliminated the Gator sophomore.
Ingildsen cruised to a consolation victory 6-2, 7-5 and will advance into the second round.
Duarte Vale advanced by default over Jake Van Emburgh of Oklahoma.

"We had a good day today. Andy [Andrade] fought so hard to win his second set today and had the momentum in the third. The next step for him is coming and we all know it. Joe [
Johannes Ingildsen] did a nice job finishing his singles match today in straight sets. We are challenging all of our guys to choose to be mentally tough in all situations!!!! We are able to stay tough in the doubles today and get a win when we didn't have our very best. Overall, we are learning with every match."
