Former Gators Zhang and Vogel Earn Web.com Tour Cards

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The final round of Final Stage of the Web.com Tour Qualifying Tournament wrapped up Sunday afternoon at Whirlwind Golf Club (The Cattail and Devil's Claw), outside Phoenix, Arizona, and two former Gators made it through.
Here's what was at stake during Final Stage:
• The medalist receives fully exempt status on the 2019 Web.com Tour.
• Finishers 2-10 (and ties) are guaranteed entry into the first 12 events of the 2019 Web.com Tour Regular Season.
• Finishers 11-40 (and ties) are guaranteed entry into the first eight events of the 2019 Web.com Tour Regular Season.
• The remainder of the field receives conditional status on the 2019 Web.com Tour.
Former Gators Andy Zhang and T.J. Vogel each finished in position to secure Tour starts in 2019.
Zhang finished T8, securing him 12 regular season starts throughout the 2019 season and Vogel finished T16, securing him eight regular season starts throughout the 2019 season.
Zhang golfed at Florida from 2016-2018 before departing early to embark on his journey to the PGA. During his time as a Gator he led Florida in stroke average (71.10) while picking up seven top-25 finishes and four top-10 finishes during the 2017-18 season. Also a finalist for the Fred Haskins Player of the Year Award, he became the first player in program history to take home both the SEC Championship and NCAA Regional individual championships.
Vogel golfed at Florida from 2011-2013 after transferring from the University of Southern California. During his time as a Gator he played in every tournament but one for the men's golf team and owned a stroke average of 72.07. He earned several honors including PING and Golfweek All-American honors and All-SEC honors. He also participated in the 2013 Masters Tournament.
