Monday, December 10, 2018 | Softball
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Head Coach Tim Walton and the Florida softball program announced Monday afternoon the addition of two games to the upcoming 2019 schedule that will be played at the newly renovated Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.
Florida has added an exhibition game against the Japanese Women's National Team that is scheduled to take place Feb. 12, and will now host UNF Feb. 13, instead of traveling to play in Jacksonville. The pair of games will be the first opportunity for fans to watch the Gators live against outside competition in the revamped stadium.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for our program," Walton said. "Being able to play a world-ranked opponent like Team Japan at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium for the first time since the renovation is going to deliver an experience like none other for our student-athletes and our fans. We look forward to welcoming Team Japan to Gainesville and being able to provide a championship caliber experience for all."
The exhibition against Team Japan will be the first time in program history that the Gators will compete against a country's national team.
Also, with the addition of the two home games to the 2019 schedule, UF is now set to host 27 contests at KSP Stadium.
