GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida returns to the national stage once again on Saturday, as the Gators will compete in a New Year's Six Bowl for the first time since 2012.
The Gators, who played in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 2, 2013, have spent this week in Atlanta where they will play No. 7 Michigan in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl on Dec. 29. The game is scheduled to kick off at 12 p.m. ET and will be televised on ESPN.
The Gators have played in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl just two times. The Gators fell to West Virginia in 1982, 26-6, and lost to Miami (FL) in 2004, 27-10.
The Gators opened the 2017 season against Michigan and they'll close the 2018 season against the Wolverines.
Saturday marks the third time in four seasons these two storied programs will meet. Michigan defeated Florida 41-7 in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl in Orlando to conclude the 2015 season, and in last year's season opener in Arlington, Texas, Michigan beat Florida 33-17 in the Advocare Classic.
However, a lot has changed since those last two matchups and Coach Dan Mullen has ensured Gator Nation that his only focus is winning the game on Saturday.
