GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida softball team prepares to compete in the Judi Garman Classic (Mar. 1-3) in Fullerton, Calif. on the campus of Cal State Fullerton.
 
The Gators (16-1) come off an 8-0 week where the team recorded five shutouts that also included several notable individual performances and a coaching milestone.
 
Head Coach Tim Walton secured his 800^th career victory after a 7-2 victory over Maryland to open the Aquafina Invitational. Walton, in his 16^th season overall as a head coach, is averaging over 50 wins a year.
 
Juniors Kelly Barnhill and Amanda Lorenz picked up weekly Southeastern Conference Pitcher and Player of the week honors after having stellar performances. Barnhill, SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week, struck out a season-high 15 against Oakland (Feb. 21) and then threw her fourth-career no-hitter against Iowa State (Feb. 24). The following day Barnhill recorded the first perfect game of her career in a victory over Georgia Southern.
 
Lorenz was as equally impressive at the plate last week as she recorded a 1.045 slugging percentage and a .455 batting average through the eight-game span. The Moorpark, Calif. native produced 12 runs on 10 hits (with six doubles, two triples and a home run) with 10 RBI, six walks and one stolen base.
 
In the final game of the Aquafina Invitational, Lorenz went 3-for-3 with two doubles and a three-run home run against Georgia Southern. She also tied her season long hit-streak by registering one hit in the last seven games.
 
Every game that the Gators play in during the Judi Garman will be broadcast on WGGG (92.1 FM/1230 AM) & WMOP (100.1 FM/900 AM). Ryan Urquhart and former Gator softball standout Kelsey Horton will have the call for each game.
