Kayli Kvistad's character has helped her to excel in the classroom, in competition and in the community.
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Senior first baseman Kayli Kvistad of the University of Florida softball team was selected as one of 30 collegiate softball student-athletes from around the country as a candidate for the 2018 Senior CLASS Award
An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
The 30 candidates will be narrowed to 10 finalists later in the season, and those 10 names will be placed on the official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches and fans, who will select one candidate who best exemplifies excellence in the four Cs of community, classroom, character and competition.
Kvistad is a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American, two-time NFCA All-American and two-time All-SEC First team selection who is majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders and is expected to graduate in May. After graduation, the Lake City, Fla. native plans to obtain her master's in Speech Therapy.
