No. 4 Gators Set to Host Hampton & Jacksonville

The times for the Gators' (28-4) games on Friday were adjusted due to the high chance of rain entering the area later in the day. Florida will now play Hampton at 10 a.m. and Jacksonville at noon.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida softball team is set to host Hampton and Jacksonville in a series of games starting Friday, March 30, at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.

The times for the Gators' (28-4) games on Friday were adjusted due to the high chance of rain entering the area later in the day. Florida will now play Hampton at 10 a.m. and Jacksonville at noon. The game times for Saturday will stay as originally scheduled.

Florida enters the weekend after splitting a doubleheader with FIU on Wednesday. Aleshia Ocasio threw her first complete-game no-hitter of the season and faced one over the minimum in game one, while the Panthers bounced back in game two to earn the split decision.

This weekend's series of games will be broadcast on WGGG (92.1 FM/1230 AM) & WMOP (100.1 FM/900 AM). Kyle Crooks and former Gator softball standout Katie Medina Doiron will have the call.

The games will also be streamed on the SEC Network +, which can be found via WatchESPN.com or the WatchESPN app. Tom Collett and Kelsey Horton will serve as the hosts.

Notable Notes:
  • Florida holds a combined record of 21-0 against Hampton (2-0) and Jacksonville (19-0) entering this weekend.
  • Amanda Lorenz has reached base safely in every game this season so far.
    • For her career she has reached base safely 156 of 163 games played.
  • Kelly Barnhill earned her eighth career SEC Pitcher of the Week this week. The Gators have 43 total SEC Pitcher of the Week awards, which is the most among any other program in the SEC.
  • Aleshia Ocasio threw the second complete-game no-hitter of her career in game one against FIU this past Wednesday.
    • The Gators now have a program record seven no-hitters, six individual and one combined, on the season.
