GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The sixth-ranked Florida softball team welcomes No. 11 South Carolina to Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium for a three-game Southeastern Conference series that starts Friday, April 13, at 6 p.m.
The Gators (34-7, 9-3 SEC) enter this weekend after having fell, 4-1, in the initial game of the Fresh from Florida Sunshine Showdown at No. 13 Florida State this past Wednesday.
Freshman
Danielle Romanello was tabbed this week's SEC Freshman of the Week after her heroics in the series finale at Alabama. Romanello came through with a pinch-hit two-run double to tie the game in the fourth and pushed Florida out to a 3-2 lead with her first collegiate home run in the sixth.
The race for the SEC Regular Season Championship remains tight as Florida (9-3) leads with Georgia (11-4 SEC) trailing in second and the Gamecocks (8-4) in third.
The three-game series between the Gators and the Gamecocks will be broadcast on WGGG (92.1 FM/1230 AM) & WMOP (100.1 FM/900 AM). Ryan Urquhart and former Gator softball standout Kelsey Stewart will have the call.
This weekend's series will also be streamed on the SEC Network + with Kyle Crooks, Kelsey Horton and Francesca Enea as the hosts for the series. Fans can find links to the video stream below or it can be found by searching on WatchESPN.com or the WatchESPN app.
