
Report Card: UF Student-Athletes Post Impressive Cumulative GPAs

Florida’s student-athletes posted an overall 3.15 GPA for the spring semester.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Between seven conference championships and one NCAA Championship (so far), it has been an impressive year for the University of Florida.
However, Florida's student-athletes have been quite successful in the classroom as well.
Just over a week ago, 59 student-athletes received their UF degrees.
Now the Gators can boast about a spring semester overall grade point average of 3.15.
More highlights from the Gators' spring semester in the academic arena:
- 15 of the 19 teams posted a GPA above 3.0
- The overall student-athlete GPA increased for the fourth straight semester
- Overall cumulative GPA of student-athletes is 3.11 for the 2017-18 academic year
- 327 student athletes earned above a 3.0 GPA
- 31 student athletes across 11 teams earned a 4.0 GPA
"Our staff and in particular, our academic staff under the direction of Jeff Guin at the Hawkins Center, are fully invested in the academic progress and success of our student athletes," Athletic Director Scott Stricklin said. "Those athletes who compete for championships everyday on their respective fields of play, are equally committed in the classroom and we are very proud of their accomplishments this Spring."
