STILLWATER, Okla. -- Florida junior Gordon Neale and sophomore Andy Zhang have been named to the PING All-Southeast Region team, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America Saturday.
Neale and Zhang have anchored the top of the Gator lineup for the final six events this season. Zhang (70.70) and Neale (70.96) lead Florida in stroke average this year while both picking up seven top-25 finishes and four top-10 finishes. They are on pace to become the sixth and seventh players in program history to complete a season with a stroke average under 71.00. Neale is looking to become the first player in Florida history to have a stroke average of 72.00 or lower in his first three years in Gainesville.
Zhang, who was recently was nominated as one of 20 collegiate golfers in the country for the Fred Haskins Player of the Year Award, has won in each of his last two times out at the SEC Championship and NCAA Regional.
Neale picked up two top five finishes in the fall as a runner-up at the Trinity Forest and a fourth place finish at the Tavistock Collegiate.
