Men’s Tennis ranked 10th in Final ITA Rankings

Another top 10 finish for the men's tennis program
TEMPE, Ariz. – The University of Florida men's tennis team closed out the 2018 season ranked 10th in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings. This is the 12th top 10 finish in program history.
Florida found themselves ranked in the top 10 of the ITA Rankings for the majority of the 2018 season. Of the 18 ITA rankings that were released, the Gators were in the top 10 for 12 of those weeks. The Gators have been mainstays in the ITA rankings, with a streak of 40 consecutive weeks being ranked in the top 25, and 38 straight weeks being ranked in the top 20.
The Gators had four members of this year's squad ranked in the final singles rankings. Leading the way for Florida was Alfredo Perez who was ranked 14th. Following closely behind was Johannes Ingildsen who was ranked 26th. Two Gator freshman were also ranked in Oliver Crawford (No. 43) and Duarte Vale (No. 98).
Every doubles ranking released throughout the year always featured a number of Gators and the final rankings were no different. The duo of Perez and Ingildsen were ranked No. 2 in the nation by the ITA. Also in the top 25 was the pair of McClain Kessler and Vale who ended the year ranked No. 22. Chase Perez-Blanco and Crawford found themselves ranked No. 59 while Andy Andrade and Perez-Blanco were ranked No. 37.

• Perez has been ranked for 29 straight releases dating back to March 29, 2016. He spent every ranking inside the top 14 since being ranked 37 in the final fall rankings of the 2016-17 season
• Ingildsen has been ranked in 16 straight releases
• Crawford has been ranked for nine straight weeks. He debuted on March 6 at No. 93
• Vale has been ranked in 14 straight singles rankings this season. He debuted at No. 39 in the final rankings of the fall season back on Nov. 15
• Andrade was ranked for four weeks. Reached a season-high ranking of 94 on Feb. 20
• In doubles, the Gators had a total of eight different pairs ranked throughout the season
• The pair of Perez and Ingildsen were ranked No. 1 in the country seven times and never dropped outside of the top 5. They have been ranked for 25 straight releases and have never been ranked outside of the top 10. This is the second consecutive season being ranked No. 2 in the final rankings
