Tuesday, July 24, 2018 | Men's Basketball
Florida will square off against Oklahoma for the second time in three seasons.
Florida and Oklahoma will square off in the opening game of this November's Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis. The Gators and Sooners have a noon tip on Wednesday, Nov. 21, televised on ESPN.
On Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, the Gators will take on either Wisconsin or Stanford, with UF's Day 3 opponent coming from the pool of Butler, Dayton, Middle Tennessee and Virginia.
Travel and ticket packages are available now for the three-day tournament.
Florida holds a 2-0 all-time record vs. the Sooners, including 1-0 under Mike White. The Gators topped OU in Norman in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge, 84-52, on Jan. 28, 2017.
Under White, the Gators have finished third place or better in all of their non-conference tournaments, including a runner-up performance at last season's PK80 event in Portland. UF also finished second in the 2015 Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament at Mohegan Sun and third place in the 2016 AdvoCare Classic at Disney's Wide World of Sports.
Florida previously competed in the Battle 4 Atlantis in November 2014, Billy Donovan's last season at UF, and finished in sixth place. The Gators fell to Georgetown in overtime in the opener before defeating UAB and closing out with a loss to North Carolina in the fifth place game.
Oklahoma is coached by former Florida head coach Lon Kruger, who coached the Gators from 1990-96 and led the program to its first Final Four in 1994. Kruger's 104 wins on the Florida bench rank fourth in program history.
