Four Gators Gymnasts on SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The same four gymnasts who made up CollegeGymFans.com's top recruiting class also earned spots on the 2017-18 Southeastern Conference First-Year Academic Honor Roll. The four were among the 68 Gators student-athletes on the list announced Wednesday by league commissioner Greg Sankey.
This group helped the Gators gymnasts post a 3.58 grade point average in the fall of 2017 and a 3.53 GPA for spring 2018, as 13 on the team earned SEC academic recognition this season (9 on SEC Academic Honor Roll; 4 on first-year). Megan Skaggs led all of Florida's SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll recipients with her 4.0 grade point average.
To be recognized to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll, each student-athlete must 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letterwinner; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.
