Attention UF Students: Win A Chance to be Mr. Two Bits
Wednesday, September 5, 2018 | Football
UF student ticket holders can enter the Mr. Two Bits Challenge by submitting a video doing the famous cheer. The winner will be the honorary Mr. Two Bits for the Sept. 15 home game against Colorado State.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Mr. Two Bits tradition dates back to 1949 and it pays homage to super Gators fan George Edmondson, the Tampa native who regularly performed the ceremonial pre-game cheer until retiring in 2008 at the age of 86.

After Collinsworth performed it last weekend and Gator Great Bridget Sloan will take her chance this weekend, it's time for a UF student to have a chance to get the crowd at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium to "stand up and holler."
The University Athletic Association announced Wednesday the Mr. Two Bits Challenge, a contest for student season-ticket holders, with the winner leading the Two Bits cheer before the Sept. 15 home game against Colorado State.
Official Rules:
- Contestants must film a video, anywhere from 10 to 30 seconds long, doing the famous cheer -- "Two bits, four bits, six bits, a dollar! All for the Gators, stand up and holler!"
- The video must be submitted via either Twitter or Instagram using #StudentTwoBits or tagging @GatorsStudents.
- Entries must be posted by the end of Florida's game against Kentucky on Saturday night.
- The more creative and more passionate, the better.
"The student body is a very important to the success of the football team," Dan Mullen said last spring. "They set the tempo of the stadium on game day. They set the atmosphere. The students are what makes it come alive."
Now some fan will get a very special opportunity to bring those elements before the game.
